What is the purpose for the parallel parking ?

Understanding the Purpose of Parallel Parking: A Comprehensive Overview Parallel parking is a driving maneuver that often elicits mixed feelings from drivers. While it can be a source of stress for some, it plays a crucial role in urban and suburban driving environments. This blog aims to explore the purpose and benefits of parallel parking, shedding light on why it is an essential skill for drivers. 1. Maximizing Urban Space In densely populated areas, parking space is at a premium. Parallel parking allows for more efficient use of available space compared to other parking methods. By parking vehicles parallel to the curb, more cars can fit into a given length of road, optimizing the use of limited parking resources. This is particularly important in urban environments where space is limited and every inch counts.  2. Enhancing Traffic Flow Parallel parking contributes to smoother traffic flow in busy areas. Is code EB and code C1 the same ?

When it comes to the codes of drivers licenses the one that is most confusing is the EB license.

The EB license is a license on its own just like when you have a license for a motorcycle.

With a Code EB license, you can operate articulated vehicles with a gross combination mass, meaning that's the maximum weight including the vehicle, load, and its passengers up to 3500kg.

and that you are allowed to draw a trailer with a gross vehicle mass greater than 750kg.

Remember that you can draw a trailer with a GVM greater than 750kg but your GCM should not exceed 3500kg.

for example if your vehicles tare weight is 1994kg and the trailers GVM is 1400kg, the combined GVM of the vehicle and trailer is 2791kg, which is below the 3500kg towing limit for a EB license.

if you have an EB license you are authorized to drive all vehicles listed under Code B

All licenses codes that are starting with E will allow you to tow a caravan or trailer with a GCM greater than 750kg.

That is why EB and C1 is not the same even if the Code C1 is bigger than the Code EB.

if you only hold a Code C1 it means that you are not allowed to tow a trailer greater than 750kg, in order to tow a trailer greater than 750kg you will need a EC1 or EC license.

Now lets say you have both licenses on your card the EB and the C1, does this mean you can tow a trailer greater than 750kg with a C1 vehicle ?

No, remember that the B stands for light motor vehicle, that is why there will be 2 codes displayed on your drivers license card.

EB means you can drive a light motor vehicle with a trailer that weighs more than 750kg with a GCM of 3500kg

C1 means you can drive a heavy goods vehicle up to  16 000 kg  but needs an EC1 or EC license in order to pull a trailer heavier than 750kg, so that means that even if you have a EB license also on your card, you are not allowed to tow a trailer heavier than 750kg when driving a goods vehicle.
